Patrick Moore, the astronomer, told us: 'Nothing lasts forever, perhaps not even the universe itself'. He was talking about the sun; it's the same for your rock.
My haiku is not meant to be a downer, saying that nothing lasts so all is hopeless. I think of it as life-affirming, a reminder that everything is in a state of transient impermanence and that the things we do today won't be remembered in 1000 years, or even 100 years. Don't be afraid to live the way you want to; to do the things you want to do even if they're not "popular".
I know it's a message of which I have to remind myself regularly :)
I live in the dodgy part of town with my boyfriend, three cats and a dog.
I work in a Library in another dodgy part of town with some pretty amazing people.
When I'm free, I like to play video games, read books, watch films and try writing.
I also go through a lot of phases, so I'm hoping that blogging's not one of them!

There are things that last. I believe that but they are not made of rocks and wood and plastic.
Lovely haiku.
Nice. I also like your Einstein quote about infinity!
Thanks everyone for your comments :)
